Governments’ Biggest Sin…

It came to me in a recent pain-pill induced haze. The problem with our so called,,, of the people,,, by the people,,, and for the people Government, is that we the people, aren’t allowed, only  politicians.

The two, at least in this instance, are Mutually Exclusive.

Don’t try to figure it out, don’t waste time analyzing it. You have no real representation in your Government, either do something about it, or get the hell out of the way. If it weren’t for growing food, or war toys, your Government wouldn’t need you at all, and being unnecessary can be a very, very, dangerous proposition where Democrats are involved.

Bet it sounds like I’m not exactly fond of this Democratic Republic thing. But, given it’s the only form of Government designed specifically to fix this decaying society, I’m all in.

Ole George Washington and his pals were pretty smart. The Authors of the Constitution are considered a collection of the greatest political and philosophical minds in history. Thank God we have only to be smart enough, to agree with them.

Making Democracy
     Making a Democratic Republic

The very thought of attendees at the Constitutional Convention – George Washington, John Adams, and Ben Franklin, just to name a few – collected in a single room while deciding the fate of a new country is  staggering.

The brilliance of the signers of the  Constitution is second only to the bravery displayed by them.  http://constitution.laws.com/constitutional-convention/constitution-authors-and-signers

What is Amazing to me however is their ability to make 1787 answers, fit 2019 questions. Yes, these guys were top-shelf smart, and off the charts brave, that’s for sure and certain.

So…, tell me again…, why did we stop trusting them? And when did we decide that being a Citizen of the United States of America didn’t necessarily mean you had to live and breathe.

Tell me this doesn't scare the shit out of Politicans
Tell me this doesn’t scare Politicians

So sayeth the Lords of Corporate America and their BFF The Supreme Court.

George and the boys have our back however. They authored article IV of the constitution specifically for this purpose folks. Now I’m just guessing, but I bet most of you, like me, aren’t quite certain of exactly what a Convention of States is. So here it is:  Convention of States? Saving America!

There is another way however, A referendum.

A referendum is a direct and universal vote in which an entire electorate is invited to vote on a particular proposal and can have nationwide or local forms. This may result in the adoption of a new policy or specific law. In some countries, it is synonymous with a plebiscite or a vote on a ballot question. Wikipedia

In other words my friends, you have the opportunity to vote directly on a single issue without the usual political skewing or distortion of your will. So, at least one time in your life, your vote WILL count. Be proud, I’m not sure many can say that.

But a referendum on what? I mean what the hell can we do to affect our whole Government at one time. The subject of this referendum must go to the very core of dishonestly in Government, it must, for all intent and purpose, follow the Money.

While it’s a well known fact that money doesn’t grow on trees, evidently Campaign Finance Donations…, Do!

So, why do we allow them? Since I’ve been looking at this stuff, I’ve become aware of my utter detachment from reality as far as Politics is concerned. I’m totally embarrassed. But I am smart enough to find out what I should be embarrassed about. And, I did.

Did you know that the 2012 election cost over $4+ Billion, with a “B”, Billion dollars? Just click, it’s simply amazing..  https://www.opensecrets.org/bigpicture/

The Supreme Court’s 2012 decision in Citizens United v. FEC opened the outside spending floodgates by allowing super PACs and nonprofits to raise and spend unlimited amounts of electioneering funds from corporations, unions and other large donors. Remember when I said that your vote counted? I take it back.

Now, from what I gather The Supreme Court’s 2012 decision in Citizens United v. FEC is one of those, “Screw you” I did it because I can laws.

Maybe "SUPREME" isn't quite the right word....
Maybe “SUPREME” isn’t    quite the right word….

These Guys are SUPREME COURT JUSTICES,  they have to be the cream of the crop, right?

These should be smart, fair, trustworthy,  and compassionate, and all that the other shit that they ARE NOT!

The  Supreme Court Justices that Voted for this  monstrosity are, to put it mildly, none of the  above, and, SELF-RIGHTEOUS ASSHOLES to  boot.

I was incredulous. Where the hell do you even find people that would vote that way. That made me wonder, what are the requirements for being a Supreme Court Justice anyway? So, I looked and this is what I found:

“There are no official qualifications for becoming a Supreme Court justice. The Constitution spells out age, citizenship and residency requirements for becoming president of the United States or a member of Congress, but mentions no rules for joining the nation’s highest court.

In the words of the iconic, “John McEnroe”, “You Can-not Be Serious!”

Sadly John, Yes we can. They ain’t much, but they all we got… and, they all we gonna get for quite a while too. They in it for life ya know.

Pretty nice little Crib huh?
  Pretty nice little Crib huh?

Dammmmmnnnnnnn, that sounds like a hell-of-a-gig to me. No particular skill sets needed, No physical requirements of any kind, No conscious, and a No-Cut contract. Pick up your check, act like you give a shit, and go home.

The problem is, these assholes don’t even act like they give a shit before going home. They did, however, decide to ruin America before leaving. Ergo, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, No. 08-205, 558 U.S. 310 (2010). http://www.opensecrets.org/news/reports/citizens_united.php

Well, thanks to George, John, Ben, and the other founding fathers, we have a way out of this mess. Or, I think we do. This Referendum thing looks promising, but as near as I can tell, United States Citizens do not have the right to a referendum. Citizens of many of our states do have the right, but as a Citizen of the United States of America, not so much.

The bottom line is this, be it by Initiative, Referendum, Special Election, Constitutional Amendment, Convention of States, or any other means, it’s up to us to fix it, NOW.

We're not in this thing alone
We’re not in this thing alone

It is far too important to trust it’s outcome to our politicians. At least to these PARTICULAR POLITICIANS.

In a Constitutional Republic any and all financial involvement by any entity, other than citizens themselves, is simply a no-no. It can only turn  out badly. And so it has.

So, what do we do? Well, first we must find an honest and trustworthy person to represent us and vote them into office. Truthfully, it would be a hell of a lot easier to use someone currently holding office, but we’d never find and honest one.

Well, maybe we could if we looked hard enough and long enough. Whatever it takes, is what we gotta do. But I’m not getting any younger guys so maybe we should get this thing to rolling.

Our guy has to sponsor whatever legislation necessary to put Campaign Finance Reform onto the ballot. He must lead the fight to OUTLAW campaign financing from any “citizens” that do not possess the ability to breath. This, of course, includes all corporations and most billionaires,

Punishment for breaking these laws will be severe and mandatory. And, depending on how pissed off we are, maybe carried live on TV.

Now, witness the rebirth of a Nation.
